Vocations
A Benedictine monk is one called to seek God.
How does one know whether one has a monastic vocation? St Benedict wrote that a monk is one who responds to the call of God, a call so profound it is heard with "the ear of the heart." One discovers one's calling in life by opening oneself to God in prayer and listening for God's response.
Come and See
One of the best ways to discover whether you are called to live a monastic life at Arcadia is to come and spend time with us, sharing in our prayer and our life. You will be able to talk with a monk about his life and assistance is available to you in your discernment process.
